Volleyball Recap: Bethel Comes Up Short

Bethel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bonney Lake Panthers. If the Bison were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Bethel ultimately came up short, they really made Bonney Lake work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 26-24, 19-25, 22-25, 15-9.

Leigha Hardesty paced Bethel's offense, picking up 14 kills. Hardesty got some help from Julianna Sullivan and her 21 assists. Sophia Foley controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Bethel's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Bonney Lake, with the victory, they broke their six-match losing streak and moved their record to 4-6.

Bethel has already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Yelm on the 20th. As for Bonney Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against South Kitsap on the 20th.
