Football Recap: Lincoln Prep Lightning vs. Duncan Wildkats

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bagdad, Lincoln Prep was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They breezed by the Duncan Wildkats at home to the tune of 56-20. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lightning needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

Parker Filleman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 227 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 151 yards and a touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run. Finn Dilley was another key player, gaining 135 total yards and three touchdowns.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lincoln Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Lincoln Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Connor Mewhinney.

Despite the loss, Duncan still got an impressive performance from ISAAC HARRIS, who rushed for 107 yards on only 11 carries. HARRIS also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Lincoln Prep pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Duncan, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

As of now, neither Lincoln Prep nor Duncan have any future games scheduled.
