Football Recap: Proviso West Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Proviso West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 48-12 loss at the hands of the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Proviso West's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dartrell Smith, who rushed for 76 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Teon Berry also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.

Proviso West's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Oak Park-River Forest, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Proviso West will square off against Downers Grove North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they will take on York at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Dukes will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
