Basketball Recap: Plainfield Central Snaps 18-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Plainfield Central hadn't done well against Romeoville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Plainfield Central Wildcats came out on top against the Romeoville Spartans by a score of 56-45. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Spartans back in December of 2024, they had to take a 60-58 loss.

Despite the loss, Romeoville still got an impressive performance from Kazaria Smith, who posted 26 points. The game was Smith's 26th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Oluwatunmise Adebayo, who put up nine points.

Plainfield Central's win ended an 18-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-20. As for Romeoville, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-19.

As for Romeoville, they will head out to take on Joliet West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Romeoville is facing Joliet West at the right time seeing as Joliet West is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
