Football Recap: Orcutt Academy Takes a Loss

Orcutt Academy and Fresno Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Orcutt Academy had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Eagles, falling 74-20. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-6.

Leading Fresno Christian to victory were Tycen Ramirez and Alex Asatrian. Ramirez threw for 243 yards and five TDs on only 17 passes, while Asatrian gained 220 total yards and five touchdowns. Asatrian's longest reception was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. Hayden Spurrier helped Ramirez out on the ground, rushing for 66 yards and a pair of scores.

Orcutt Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Fresno Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Orcutt Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fresno Christian, they will challenge Laton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' defense has only allowed 9.3 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
