Basketball Recap: Simon Gratz Takes a Loss

Simon Gratz managed to slip by Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs came up short against Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech on Saturday, falling 66-41. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyyir Roberts-Moore, who shot 75% from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points. The dominant performance also gave Roberts-Moore a new career-high in field goal percentage (67%). Haneef Davis was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Simon Gratz's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simon Gratz will take on Abraham Lincoln at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech, they will square off against West Philadelphia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Speedboys have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
