Softball Recap: Williamsville Bullets vs. Meridian Hawks

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Morton, Williamsville was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Meridian Hawks by a score of 7-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Williamsville also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Hope Keenan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Williamsville got a massive performance out of Izzy Nowack, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and a double. Nowack has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Norah Dodsworth, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

On Meridian's side, Madi Kapchinskie made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kristina Smith, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
