Baseball Game Preview: Wilcox Chargers vs. Evergreen Valley Cougars

The Wilcox Chargers will take on the Evergreen Valley Cougars at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wilcox will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Wilcox is returning to their home field after beating Homestead on theirs, despite the fact Homestead has dominated at home this season. The Chargers walked away with a 5-2 win over the Mustangs on Friday.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Evergreen Valley faced off against Prospect on Thursday. The Cougars were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Panthers.

Tristan Ho was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Wilcox's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Evergreen Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

Wilcox beat Evergreen Valley 5-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
