Basketball Recap: Grand Canyon Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Grand Canyon had lost four straight headed into Thursday's contest, but Jaemie Jensen didn't let it get to five. The Grand Canyon Phantoms took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 44-12 victory over the Greyhills Academy Knights thanks in part to Jensen, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 16 steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Grand Canyon's points.

Another player making a difference was Amelia Walls, who posted a point and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Grand Canyon's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for Greyhills Academy, they are on a 31-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Grand Canyon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-36 defeat against Williams on the 11th. As for Greyhills Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 44-4 loss against Many Farms on the 11th.
