Volleyball Recap: Fairview Tigers vs. Sharon Tigers
Fairview was the 3-1 winner over Sharon when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Fairview fell just short of Sharon by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While Fairview didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Sharon 25-17 in the first set.
Fairview actually scored more points across those five sets (106-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 26-24, 18-25, 25-20, 15-12.
Gianna Campoli paced Fairview's offense, picking up 14 kills. Campoli got some help from Gaelie Hynes and her 36 assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sharon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dani Currie, who had 17 digs, six kills, and six aces. That's the most aces Currie has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmalie Yobe, who had 19 digs and 18 assists.
Fairview's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-3. As for Sharon, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairview will venture away from home to face off against Slippery Rock at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Rockets have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Sharon, they will head out to square off against Commodore Perry at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
