Basketball Recap: Walsh Comes Up Short

Walsh played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 60-33 loss at the hands of the Holly Wildcats. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the loss, Walsh still got an impressive performance from Kayla Penick, who went 6-for-15 on her way to 14 points and six steals. Walsh is 2-1 when Penick posts five or more steals, but 3-10 otherwise.

Josie Kissell had a dynamite game for Holly, dropping a double-double with 26 points and 15 boards. Kissell is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Allison Rushton was another key player, going 6-for-11 en route to 12 points and three steals.

Walsh's record now sits at 5-11. As for Holly, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.

Walsh has already played their next contest, a 67-42 loss against La Veta on the 14th. As for Holly, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 45-29 defeat against Syracuse on the 15th.
