Basketball Recap: Highland's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Littlerock, Highland was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-48 victory over the Eastside Lions. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the defeat, Eastside had strong showings from Kenneth Harris, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Wydell James, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points and seven boards. Those 19 points gave James a new career-high.

Highland's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-6. As for Eastside, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.

Highland will venture away from home to take on Antelope Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland is facing Antelope Valley at the right time seeing as Antelope Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Eastside, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-31 win against Fillmore on the 14th.
