Basketball Game Preview: Pecatonica Indians vs. River Ridge/Scales Mound Wildcats

The Pecatonica Indians will face off against the River Ridge/Scales Mound Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pecatonica comes in on three and River Ridge/Scales Mound on five.

Pecatonica is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lena-Winslow 48-15. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, River Ridge/Scales Mound didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Newman Central Catholic on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 48-43 win.

Pecatonica better focus on containing Sarah Winter and Laiken Haas as the pair were huge in River Ridge/Scales Mound's win. Winter went 5-for-8 en route to 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Haas posted 15 points and six rebounds. Winter has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenley Patterson, who scored 11 points along with six boards and three steals.

River Ridge/Scales Mound smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Pecatonica's record now sits at 27-6. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, their record is now an identical 27-6.

Pecatonica was able to grind out a solid victory over River Ridge/Scales Mound in their previous matchup back in January, winning 41-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pecatonica since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
