Softball Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cedar Hill last Monday, Lamar came back down to earth. The Lamar Vikings fell just short of the Brewer Bears by a score of 10-8 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since February 23, 2024.

Nathalie Dermas stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Leila Bajenaru, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Brewer, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Lamar has already played their next match, an 8-0 loss against Burkburnett on the 14th. As for Brewer, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-4 defeat against Ridge Point on the 14th.
