Baseball Recap: McComb Comes Up Short

McComb lost against Richland back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The McComb Tigers fell 11-6 to the Richland Rangers. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zavion Parker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

Even though they lost, McComb was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

McComb's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Richland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McComb will challenge Raymond at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McComb is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Richland, they will take on Lawrence County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richland will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
