Basketball Recap: Rim of the World Comes Up Short

Rim of the World was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Redlands Terriers 49-22. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fighting Scots of the 76-43 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2017.

Redlands was led to victory by Kallen Gragg and Charlie Schadwinkel. Gragg shot 4-for-6 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards, while Schadwinkel posted 12 points and six assists. The dominant performance gave Gragg a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Joshua Simmons, who earned four points.

Rim of the World's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Redlands, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rim of the World will venture away from home to face off against Fontana at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Redlands, they will head out to square off against Citrus Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Citrus Valley's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Redlands has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
