Football Recap: East Palestine Takes a Loss

If East Palestine was riding high fresh off their 40-6 takedown of Wellsville last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs had to suffer through a 63-24 loss at the hands of the United Golden Eagles. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

East Palestine's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Clark Rutledge and Rj May. Rutledge threw for 166 yards and three touchdowns, while May picked up 63 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Having lost for the first time this season, East Palestine fell to 6-1. As for United, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Coming up, East Palestine will face off against Leetonia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for United, they will be playing at home against Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
