Basketball Game Preview: Lewiston Tigers vs. Sterling Jets

Lewiston is 0-10 against Sterling since January of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Lewiston Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Sterling Jets at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Lewiston will head into Monday's contest out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They came up short against Bruning-Davenport/Shickley, falling 35-12.

Despite the defeat, Lewiston had strong showings from Justice Currie, who posted five points, and Delanye Currie, who had five points.

Meanwhile, Sterling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-38 heartbreaker at the hands of Pawnee City.

Lewiston's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Sterling, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Lewiston might still be hurting after the 48-24 defeat they got from Sterling when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Lewiston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
