Preview: Oakland-Craig Knights vs. Winnebago Indians
The Oakland-Craig Knights will be playing at home against the Winnebago Indians at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought match, but Oakland-Craig had to settle for a 37-34 defeat against Howells-Dodge. Oakland-Craig has not had much luck with Howells-Dodge recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Oakland-Craig got a solid performance out of Braylon Anderson, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds. Anderson scored a full 35.3% of Oakland-Craig's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Pearson, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Winnebago's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell to Omaha Nation 61-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
The losing side was boosted by Timothy Lapointe, who scored 27 points along with 9 rebounds. He scored a full 47.4% of Winnebago's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Rachman Free-Bass, who scored 8 points along with 14 rebounds.
Oakland-Craig bumped their record down to 2-3 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Winnebago, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's game: Oakland-Craig have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4.4 threes per game. However, it's not like Winnebago struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 6 per game. Given Oakland-Craig's sizeable advantage in that area, Winnebago will need to find a way to close that gap.
