            Football Recap: Garfield-Palouse Vikings vs. Pomeroy Pirates        
        
		
        
        
            
Garfield-Palouse faced Pomeroy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings took  a  32-18 bruising from the Pirates. The Vikings were not able to make up for their  loss to the Pirates from their previous meeting  back in September of 2024.
  Kyzer Herres had another great game (as  he tends to do), rushing for 215 yards and two  scores on only 15 carries, while also picking up 33 receiving yards and one  TD for Pomeroy. Those  215  rushing yards gave  Herres a new career-high.
Garfield-Palouse's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Pomeroy, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Coming up, Garfield-Palouse will head out to  face off against Dayton  at 3:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Vikings will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31  points  every time they've taken the field this season. As for Pomeroy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. John-Endicott  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Pirates are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
