Baseball Game Preview: Kirk Academy Raiders vs. North Delta Green Wave

For the second straight game, Kirk Academy will face off against North Delta. The Raiders will welcome the Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Kirk Academy has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while North Delta will arrive with nine straight victories.

Kirk Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against North Delta on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Green Wave by a score of 7-6.

For North Delta's part, Kolby Baker was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hayden Riva, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Baker wasn't the only one working in the hit department: North Delta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests.

North Delta's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Kirk Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
