Make it seven blowout wins for the Gaston Day Spartans this season. They blew past Westminster Catawba Christian 65-44. The victory was just what Gaston Day needed coming off of a 60-37 defeat in their prior match.
Gaston Day found their leader in underclassman Braylen Todd, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Fields, who scored ten points.
Gaston Day's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gaston Day will take on Northside Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Northside Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, they will be playing at home against Concord Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Concord Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
