Football Recap: Woodlake Tigers vs. Hoover Patriots
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Woodlake can now relate to. They fell to the Hoover Patriots 25-20. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
A big part of Hoover's victory came down to the chemistry between Justin Brewington and his top target Keon Hill. Brewington threw for 324 yards and four touchdowns while Hill picked up 175 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Hill was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 51 yards. A healthy portion of Brewington's aerial production (89 yards to be exact) also went to Pamir Oliver, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Woodlake's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3. As for Hoover, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Woodlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hoover, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Selma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
