Basketball Recap: The Carmel School Victorious

Grace Christian School came into Thursday's match looking for another win against The Carmel School, but Kedelin Santos wouldn't allow it. The Carmel School Wildcats took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 54-20 victory over the Grace Christian School Kings thanks in part to Santos, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 rebounds. Her evening made it 12 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Despite the loss, Grace Christian School had strong showings from Kalei Taylor, who posted eight points and seven boards, and Jorianna Burch, who earned no points and three steals. Burch has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

The Carmel School's record now sits at 7-5. As for Grace Christian School, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Carmel School will square off against Cristo Rey at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Carmel School is facing Cristo Rey at the right time seeing as Cristo Rey is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Grace Christian School has already played their next match (against Christchurch School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
