Baseball Game Preview: Forestview Jaguars vs. Ashbrook Greenwave

For the second straight game, Forestview will face off against Ashbrook. Forestview will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Ashbrook at 6:00 p.m. Forestview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Forestview turned things around against Ashbrook on Tuesday. They walked away with a 15-10 win over the Greenwave. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Jaguars' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Isaac Aycock made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Forestview is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Aycock was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on CJ Davis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. Alex Nance was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.

Forestview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Ashbrook's loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Forestview, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-5.
