Basketball Recap: Lighthouse Baptist Academy Ambassadors vs. Aletheia Christian Academy Lions
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Lighthouse Baptist Academy Ambassadors ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Aletheia Christian Academy 57-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lighthouse Baptist Academy.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Thomas Dickson, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Dickson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jude Burke, who scored 12 points.
Lighthouse Baptist Academy pushed their record up to 5-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Aletheia Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
Lighthouse Baptist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Aletheia Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Gladiators at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Gulf Pointe Latin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
