Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jaylen Henry and Jeremy Dietz Lead Conemaugh Valley to Victory

Conemaugh Valley won the last time they faced Penns Manor and things went their way on Friday too. The Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays walked away with a 67-58 victory over the Penns Manor Comets. That's two games straight that the Blue Jays have won by exactly nine points.

Leading Conemaugh Valley to victory were Jeremy Dietz and Jaylen Henry. Dietz went 9 of 15 on his way to 27 points and eight rebounds, while Henry went 9 of 22 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Dietz's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Korhut, who posted six points and nine rebounds.

Penns Manor lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alex Polenik, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Vinny Myers, who had 23 points.

Conemaugh Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Penns Manor, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Conemaugh Valley will head out to challenge Homer-Center at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Penns Manor, they will welcome Purchase Line at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
