Basketball Recap: Masterman vs. Girard Academic Music Program Pioneers
Masterman were the 69-17 winner over the Girard Academic Music Program Pioneers when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Masterman took a 37-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers on Tuesday. Masterman just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.
Despite the loss, Masterman still got an impressive performance from Charlie Adams, who scored 13 points along with four steals and four blocks. Adams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Raj Chaudhury was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Masterman dropped their record down to 2-12 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Girard Academic Music Program, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Masterman will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bobcats at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Franklin Learning Center is ranked 737th, while the are ranked 712th). As for Girard Academic Music Program, they will head out on the road to challenge the at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Science Leadership Academy and the Pioneers are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
