Soccer Game Preview: Viewpoint vs. Bishop Montgomery

The Viewpoint Patriots will face off against the Bishop Montgomery Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Viewpoint is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Cate. The win was all the more spectacular given Viewpoint's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 534th, while Cate are ranked 150th).

Neo Mishan and Max Brown scored all three of Viewpoint's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 24 goals.

Meanwhile, Bishop Montgomery hasn't lost a match since January 16th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Knights who were credited with the victory. Bishop Montgomery got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Temescal Canyon's three.

Bishop Montgomery has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matches. As for Viewpoint, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6-3.
