It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Peebles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Whiteoak Wildcats. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Kaelyn Musser made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over eight innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kendall Myers, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Abigail Smalley, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.
Peebles kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Peebles' record is now 3-5. As for Whiteoak, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.
