Football Recap: Caine Oakley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Frankton over Western

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Frankton can now relate to. They fell 29-22 to the Western Panthers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Panthers are ranked 92nd).

Frankton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Caine Oakley, who rushed for 53 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Frankton also got help from Trey Bennett, who showed off his sure hands for 107 receiving yards.

Frankton dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Western, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Frankton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Western, they will face off against Twin Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
