Basketball Recap: Wellington Extends Winning Streak to Four

If Clearview wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wellington, they should've done a better job of containing Brooke Lehmkuhl. The Wellington Dukes were the clear victor by a 62-41 margin over the Clearview Clippers on Wednesday thanks in part to Lehmkuhl, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 21 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Mackenzie Jerousek was another key player, putting up five points and three steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

The win (which was Wellington's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-8. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for Clearview, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Wellington will head out to square off against Keystone at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keystone is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season. Clearview has already played their next game (against Huron), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
