Basketball Recap: IDEA Robindale Takes a Loss

IDEA Robindale lost against IDEA Weslaco Pike back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The IDEA Robindale Aviators fell 48-36 to the IDEA Weslaco Pike Mavericks. The Aviators just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.

Aaron Leos was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds for IDEA Weslaco Pike. That's the most points Leos has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Louie Gutierrez, who posted five points in addition to five assists and four steals.

IDEA Robindale's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for IDEA Weslaco Pike, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. IDEA Robindale will square off against IDEA Frontier College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. IDEA Robindale is facing IDEA Frontier College Prep at the right time seeing as IDEA Frontier College Prep is stuck on an 18-game losing streak. As for IDEA Weslaco Pike, they will take on IDEA Riverview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
