Elko is 6-1 against Sparks since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Railroaders at 7:00 p.m. Elko's defense has only allowed 8.5 points per game this season, so Sparks' offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Elko was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 20-14 to Truckee. The Indians have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Sparks' offense. They took a blow against South Tahoe on Friday, falling 49-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Railroaders came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 58th in Nevada, while the Vikings are ranked 474th in California).

Sparks' loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Elko, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Elko against Sparks in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 62-21 win. In that game, the Indians amassed a halftime lead of 41-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
