Basketball Preview: St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders vs. Edgewater Eagles
The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders and the Edgewater Eagles will face off at 7:50 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. St. Thomas Aquinas knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Edgewater likes a good challenge.
St. Thomas Aquinas picked up another tournament win on Friday. They walked away with a 74-65 victory over Creekside. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Knights are ranked 124th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Thomas Aquinas found their leader in sophomore Clarence Westbrook Jr., who went 10 for 16 on his way to 24 points in addition to five assists and three steals. That's the most assists Westbrook Jr. has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Wimbley Jr., who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards.
St. Thomas Aquinas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Edgewater didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Milton on Friday, but they still walked away with a 58-52 win.
Edgewater's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
