It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Yerington had no problem doing just that  on Friday. Everything went their way against the North Tahoe Lakers as they made off with  a  12-3 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 22 games by six  runs or more this season.
 Valor Angle made a big impact no matter where he played. He  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over 6.2 innings pitched. Angle was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Brent Brinkley, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.  Brody Carlgren was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI and one  run.
Yerington is  on a roll lately: they've  won 18 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-5 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for North Tahoe,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 18-10.
As of now, neither Yerington nor the Lakers have any future games scheduled.
