Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Pine Prairie's 20th in Last 22 Outings

Pine Prairie made up a huge gap compared to their last game against St. Mary, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 9-1 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 16 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kynnedi Ware spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 22 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ella Fontenot was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Camryn Aguillard, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Pine Prairie has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 22 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for St. Mary, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Pine Prairie and St. Mary should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Panthers will challenge Avoyelles Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (11 vs. 199). Meanwhile, St. Mary (ranked 88th) will meet St. Joseph's - Plaucheville (ranked 208th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
