Basketball Recap: Groesbeck Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Groesbeck came into Tuesday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 52-48 victory over the Axtell Longhorns on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Goats also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.

Groesbeck's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13. As for Axtell, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Groesbeck will take on Mexia at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Mexia knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Groesbeck likes a good challenge. As for Axtell, they will be playing at home against Chilton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
