Recap: Lewis J. Bennett Tigers vs. International Prep at Grover Presidents

The Lewis J. Bennett Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They snuck past International Prep at Grover with a 80-76 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Lewis J. Bennett had a senior duo take command as Mayeen Majong scored 24 points and Jazier Fluker scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that Fluker scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrone Tarver, who scored 11 points.

Lewis J. Bennett's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.9 points per game. As for International Prep at Grover, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewis J. Bennett will finish 2023 at home by hosting Cardinal O'Hara at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cardinal O'Hara focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. International Prep at Grover will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. One thing working in East's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
