Basketball Game Preview: Warde Mustangs vs. Staples Wreckers

The Warde Mustangs will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Staples Wreckers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warde will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Wednesday, Warde didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Danbury, but they still walked away with a 35-30 victory.

Meanwhile, Staples didn't have too much trouble with Wilton on Friday as they won 48-30. The Wreckers pushed the score to 42-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

Staples' win came from a few key players Warde will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Chloe Smith, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Addie Talbott, who posted seven points along with nine rebounds and five assists.

Staples smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

The win got Staples back to even at 6-6. As for Warde, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
