Volleyball Recap: Elwood Takes a Loss

After flying high against Marion on Tuesday, Elwood came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Anderson Indians by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Elwood took Anderson into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-14, 25-20, 24-26, 15-11.

Breelyn Norris paced Elwood's offense, picking up 13 kills. Norris got some help from Addie Jones and her 17 assists. Jones was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Elwood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Anderson, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Elwood will be playing at home against Frankton at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Anderson, they are taking a road trip to face off against Madison-Grant at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
