Volleyball Recap: Germantown Comes Up Short

Germantown lost against Brandon on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mavericks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 32-30, 26-24, 31-33, 25-12.

Leading Brandon to victory were Lynnon Rhodes and Ivy Bankston. Rhodes had 14 digs and three aces, while Bankston had 16 digs and one assist. That's the most aces Rhodes has posted over her last five contests. Katie Thorthon also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Germantown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Brandon, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Germantown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against DeSoto Central on the 7th. Brandon has also already played their next game (against Our Lady Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
