Baseball Recap: Southern Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Southern Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They came up short against the Springwood Wildcats, falling 9-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Tuesday.

Jackson Weston was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Southern Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Springwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Southern Prep Academy will venture away from home to challenge The Oaks School at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Oaks School's pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so Southern Prep Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Springwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
