Football Recap: Meyersdale Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Meyersdale lost against Windber back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Raiders and the Ramblers were almost perfectly matched up, but the Red Raiders suffered a 24-23 loss. While the Red Raiders had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Ramblers 15-0.

Although Meyersdale took the loss, they still got scores from Trey Bolyard, Spencer Whitfield, and Matthew Hainsworth.

While Meyersdale came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Windber: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 47.4%. The team can thank Whitfield for the heroic effort on defense: he. Meyersdale hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.28 or higher in seven consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meyersdale's defense didn't let Ace Kolson., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Bolyard. Meyersdale received some extra help from Bolyard, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Windber to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ike Serenko, who picked up 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 31 yards and one score. Serenko also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making seven total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes. Another rusher making a difference was Nokosi Fowler-Whetstone, who rushed for 138 yards and one TD while picking up 8.1 yards per carry.

Having lost for the first time this season, Meyersdale fell to 3-1. As for Windber, their record now sits at an identical 3-1.
