Softball Recap: Plant Comes Up Short

Plant dropped their record down to 14-10 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 8-1 to the Parrish Community Bulls. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since March 11th.

As for Parrish Community, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.

For Parrish Community's part, Emmaline Van Beck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. Van Beck has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alysa Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyndal France, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Plant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parrish Community, they will take on Steinbrenner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulls 2.1, the Warriors 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
