St. Joseph's Mateo Becerra recorded the longest rushing play in Pac-7 this season in his game against Calvary Chapel last week. Becerra's team bested the Eagles as he sprinted for 68 yards on the play and finished with 67 in all.
Fans got a thrill when Mikey Gutierrez and Sean St. Denis connected against Nipomo. The connection went for 65 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Rob Berwick put up the best numbers in passing as Atascadero bested Morro Bay. He finished with a total of 9 completions for 198 yards and 3 touchdowns. Berwick's favorite target this week was Cooper Kuhnle, who caught 3 passes for 88 yards.
He went 9-20 with 1 interceptions.
Mondo Mansera was the best running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 88 yards as Pioneer Valley topped the Titans. Ernesto Barrera also contributed to the rushing game with 55 yards on the ground.
St. Denis was the best receiver in Pac-7 this week as the Eagles bested Nipomo. St. Denis tallied 7 receptions for 122 yards. Brody Gilbert helped Arroyo Grande's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 21 yards.
5-foot-7 quarterback Gutierrez of Arroyo Grande is the league leader in passing yards this season with 330. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Eduardo Ruiz. The Pioneer Valley star has 12 catches for 226 yards.
The Panthers scaled the state rankings by moving to 524 from 619 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Pioneer Valley was able to make move up by beating Templeton 44-0.
