Baseball Recap: Mountain House's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mountain House had lost 18 games straight , but after bumping their record up to 5-18-1 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the Sierra Timberwolves 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since February 26th.

Not much got past Tommy Neri, who gave up just six hits to keep Sierra off the board. Neri also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mountain House is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-17-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Mountain House saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Callahan Healy, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Healy has posted since back in February.

As for Sierra, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since February 26th.

On Sierra's side, Wyatt Bauer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up seven Ks. Bauer has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mountain House beat Sierra by a score of 14-4 on Wednesday.
