Volleyball Recap: Burlington Wildcats vs. Wellsville Eagles
Burlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Wellsville Eagles by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Burlington sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 17-25, 25-20.
Despite the loss, Burlington still got an impressive performance from Adisyn Sleezer, who had 14 digs and three aces.
Burlington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Wellsville, the win snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 5-11 record.
Burlington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory vs. McLouth on the 28th. Wellsville has also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Anderson County on the 24th.
