Football Recap: Windsor Academy Skates Past Augusta Prep with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Windsor Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 35-8 victory over the Augusta Prep Cavaliers. The Knights not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 25, 2024 (when they won 41-6).

Windsor Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Heath Woodard, who threw for 289 yards and three TDs. Woodard's passing game has become a key predictor of the Knights' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-6 otherwise. Dalton Sims was in the mix too, providing Windsor Academy with two scores.

The win (which was Windsor Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 4-7. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games. As for Augusta Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Windsor Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-21 defeat against Brentwood on the 7th. Augusta Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
