Basketball Recap: Andy Andrew's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Koliganek over Chief Ivan Blunka

Koliganek was the 87-54 winner over Chief Ivan Blunka when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Koliganek Huskies fell 64-51 to the Chief Ivan Blunka Eagles on Friday.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andy Andrew, who posted 23 points. Those 23 points gave Andrew a new career-high. Asante Barnes was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Koliganek's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Chief Ivan Blunka, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-2.

Koliganek didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-42 win against Togiak on the 18th. As for Chief Ivan Blunka, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-49 victory against Bristol Bay on the 18th.
